The State Hermitage Museum is preparing an exhibition of digital art in NFT format. It will run until the end of this year.

Currently, the museum's contemporary art department is selecting works for the exhibition.

The exhibition was decided to be organized as part of the continuation of work on new forms of art. It will be a continuation of exhibitions such as Innovation as an Artistic Device (2018) and Artificial Intelligence and Dialogue of Cultures (2019).
The popularity of non-fungible tokens in digital art is gaining momentum. Artist Beeple (Mike Winkelmann) is actively selling his work. His work "Every Day: The First 5000 Days" was bought at Christie's for a record $ 69 million. This sale made Beeple "one of the three highly regarded artists during his lifetime."
Representatives of the business industry and IT are not remain aloof. Elon Musk has produced a track about non-fungible tokens and is going to sell it as an NFT. Girl Mask, singer Grimes, also sells NFT of her work. She made $ 5.8 million in 20 minutes by releasing her own collection tied to four drawings.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey sold his first tweet. It was acquired by the director of the blockchain company Bridge Oracle Sina Estavi for $ 2.9 million.

By the way, Russian artists and actionists also sell their works digitally. Pokras Lampas put up his work "Transition" for a crypto auction in the form of a token for $ 28.7 thousand. The buyer will receive a snapshot of the projection of the artist's painting, which is placed on the wall of the Chirkeyskaya HPP.

Re: The Hermitage will hold an exhibition of NFT works

The idea is certainly not bad, but there are many pitfalls in acquiring this type of digital art. Don't you find it?

First, the buyer does not receive any rights to the original work.
Secondly, scammers have become active in the network who sell other people's downloaded works.
And thirdly, some cases of NFT acquisition resemble a pyramid scheme (and this is not very encouraging)
