How are NFTs used in the gaming industry?

NFTs are used as characters and/or as in-game assets. Apart from that these NFTs are listed on the NFT marketplaces and also have varying rarity and exclusivity. That being said, these NFTs can also be the character we use in the game making these NFTs utility-heavy.
