What does HODL mean in the marketplace?

The once miss-spelled word, HODL, became a crypto-term in the cryptocurrency market. The term basically means buying and holding on to the crypto-coin when the market value is down. As we know, the cryptocurrency market fluctuates and can alter with an hour's gap. The traders, rather than selling their coins, can HODL them.
