Mainstreaming NFT

When Terra Virtua focused on NFT, we had one key goal; bring blockchain-based digital collectibles to the masses.

Of course, there have been / are a number of successful platforms in this area, but in general they seemed to target crypto-savvy collectors, which made it something like an exclusive club. The adaptation process was difficult for a newbie, and the excessive jargon intimidated everyone but the most dedicated.

So how did we approach this problem? The management team is made up mostly of people involved in video games - both in publishing and development - so they approached the task like a new game.

Here are the key elements:

Avoid jargon and abbreviations as much as possible
For example, when we talked about this sector to the uninitiated, we were always asked the same 2 questions:

- What does NFT? Then, when the answer was:
- What is a non-fungible token?

By the time we finished answering the second question, our eyes had dimmed and we had lost interest. So, in a nutshell, we've made the decision to always refer to digital collectibles - they're easier to define and understand. The cryptocurrency / blockchain sector is infamous for jargon, so we aim to avoid confusion but also not alienate our mainstream (NFT) community.

Avoid references to the
blockchain whenever possible The reason for this is simple; for most people blockchain = bitcoin and bitcoin = scam. There is no point in going on a crusade to recant any of these opinions; this will happen over time, and we are not obliged to talk about the nuances of the blockchain. Remember when video games were considered "brain rot" or the Internet was just a "porn" device. At first, new technologies are often viewed with suspicion and mistrust, and the blockchain is now going through this phase. So, when we talk about blockchain in Terra Virtua, we are talking about security, validity, authentication and rarity of digital collectibles. In other words, we are promoting a number (many) of the positive aspects of blockchain, but in a direct context with the services we offer.

Make the onboarding process as simple as possible
In terms of both registration and navigation through the site and the various applications we offer, to create a much more varied experience. User interface (UX) and user interface (UI) are two of the most important aspects of any digital application. There should be an intuitive "welcome" and logical progression through the registration and research stages.

Sidebar - When video games were first released, they were accompanied by a "User Guide" that outlined the goals, controls, and navigation in the game. Nobody read them! As the business progressed, the manuals were replaced with introductory tutorials (which few people played because they wanted to get straight into the game), which in turn were eventually replaced by an integrated level 1 tutorial.
Every application requires the same attention and thought during development. FAQs are essential to complement the process, but users should feel comfortable exploring what you have ... and with that comfort comes trust.

With the above in mind, our goal was to make the Terra Virtua marketplace as familiar as possible, and therefore we felt that if we could replicate the Amazon experience as closely as possible, it would help with adaptation. This kind of thing is constantly under development because you get customer feedback and act on it.

Content- getting the content you want (and knowing what to do with it)
This is the key to creating any new market. From the beginning, we knew that our catalog should contain one of two (or ideally both) elements: familiarity and desirability.

Getting to know comes with the oldest marketing strategy: licensing! Using a well-known IP satisfies this innate desire to acquire something related to a favorite brand.

Desire is something more abstract and emotional; what aesthetically pleasing to the user, be it a beautiful piece of digital art or a stunning 3D animated model of a tiger.

Utility - So you've licensed a bunch of content and created some compelling assets ... what else can you offer?
Of course, some of the best NFTs are game-related, giving them intrinsic value when used in-game, but many (most) NFTs are just static images; the digital equivalent of a trading card. This was one of the biggest challenges Terra Virtua faced - how to add value to the items we offer?

So we decided to approach this from two angles:
1. As much as possible, we would create assets in 3D, and not only, we would animate them, thereby "bringing collectibles to life."

Of course, some images can only take inert 2D form , but in general, most of the elements can be animated. By creating this richer content, we felt that we not only increased the overall appeal of such collectibles, but now offer something that cannot be reproduced in the "real world" - interactive 3D animated models of your favorite characters / vehicles / items that can respond not only to the user, but also to each other in the right combination.

For example, you might have a 3D Lost in Space robot demonstrating a given animation, as well as one of the images of Will Robinson playing with his communicator ... but if you have both of these robots and place them in close proximity to each other, then "Special" will result in an animation showing the interaction between the two characters. This not only creates amazing improvements for the user, but also contributes to the creation of a set of characters.

2. What good is the above features without apps to get the most out of them? Thus, together with the Marketplace, Terra Virtua became a unified platform - an ecosystem in which you could store, display, interact and showcase your NFT collection.

- Terra Virtua Fancave is a 3D personal (and customizable) environment in which you can showcase your collectibles. Offering some of the usual home comforts like a sofa and TV, this “room” allows you to fill the walls and shelves with all sorts of NFTs and bring them to life when your friends visit! (Note that a VR version of this has also been developed, but not available until demand calls for release.)
- The Terra Virtua AR app is a fun mobile app that allows you to take photos or video of yourself while interacting with your collectible in a real environment and then post on social media to show your friends. In the coming months, we'll be improving its functionality and introducing many new additional features.
- TerraDome is a HUGE version of Fancave, where you will store and play with your larger items, such as the F14 fighter from the Top Gun or the giant mechs of the Pacific Rim.
At launch, functionality is rather limited, but new features are planned and will be continuously introduced over the coming months. And, of course, we actively encourage suggestions for functionality and improvements from our community.
- Art Gallery - of course we have the ability to view individual art collections in the 3D Art Gallery for easier viewing. In addition to finding talented renowned digital artists, we also sign a number of big names and partner with them to develop and offer a number of innovative features for art collectors. This is something that inspires us incredibly as it combines innovation with the best creativity to create something that is not offered anywhere else.

Tokens are one of the other major challenges to presenting the concept of "tokens" to the general public, while avoiding the inevitable backlash against bitcoin when you explain that it is a cryptocurrency. We use an approach in which our tokens are positioned in the same way as a regular game currency (“gems”, “gold”, “coins”, etc.). However, by showing that you can do much more with our tokens, we believe that users will be more willing to accept and accept this offer.

Key factors:
Just like regular in-game currency, you can use tokens to buy items both in-app (for example, to set up a fan cave) and to buy collectibles themselves.

Buying and holding (staking ) a certain amount of our tokens is given by an exclusive membership in the Terra Virtua Prestige Club. This allows the user to participate, influence and vote on a range of ecosystem and asset related features and strategies. By encouraging this depth of participation, we expect the community to grow and gain a lot of influence in terms of what licenses Terra Virtua acquires, what assets we develop, and expand our ecosystem.

To receive a reward in tokens for achieving certain goals (completing collections, competitions, leaderboards, trading, etc.)

The opportunity to invest these tokens in elements of the Terra Virtua business, which makes it possible to earn money on income generated by this element.
Ensuring that, unlike traditional in-game currency, tokens can be exchanged back for fiat at any time. Since the supply of tokens is limited, their value should reflect demand.

Ensure the value proposition of the token is respected - not only as a "currency" but also the multiple benefits associated with ownership, such as private preview events collectibles or art collections (including chats with the artist), exclusive NFTs offered only to token holders, special discounts, etc. Essentially to demonstrate that the value of owning tokens exceeds the actual "price".

All of the above is ambitious, but we have already implemented a large number of these elements, and our roadmap has carefully planned to implement everything else in the coming months. We are not mistaken that this will take time and that several stumbling blocks may arise along the way as we create new territory. But equally, the Terra Virtua team is up to the challenge and confident that we have the right strategy to execute and succeed. The recent pandemic has indirectly made the general public more comfortable with digital communications and media, which we expect will accelerate the adoption and adoption of an ecosystem based on digital collectibles.

But this is just the beginning. With the inevitable ubiquitous adoption of both 5G and VR over the next few years, interoperability in truly immersive, rich, 3D environments will take all digital experiences to the next level ... and we are working on Terra Virtua to reach that level at the forefront of this. technological revolution.

I think this sounds good and all but what about the gas fees and the commisions? That is the part that im interested in the most
