Great review of Sorare

Types of cards
Cards are divided by rarity into 4 types:

1. Common. Free cards, white. Issued upon registration and as rewards in tournaments.

2. Rare. Rare cards, red. You can buy (at an auction or on the secondary market), win in tournaments or receive as a gift as part of a referral program (I'll talk about this a little later). The rare card has a circulation of only 100 copies. For a rare "medium hand" card, you usually have to pay several tens of euros. If we are talking about a rare goalkeeper card, then the price may well be several hundred euros.

3. Super Rare. Super rare cards, blue. You can buy or win tournaments. The super rare card has a mintage of only 10. For a super rare "medium hand" card, you usually have to pay several hundred euros. If we are talking about a super rare goalkeeper card, then the price may well be several thousand euros.

4. Unique. Unique cards, brown. You can buy or win tournaments. A unique card is issued in a single copy. Usually, you have to pay several thousand euros for a unique “medium hand” card.

How to play
To play, you need to sign up for one of the tournaments. Tournaments differ in the requirements for the cards put up for play and the prize pool.

The Starter League Rookie is a Starter League that can be played by making a team entirely from Common category cards (that is, from free ). However, if you wish, you can add rare cards to the team - according to the regulations in this league, it is allowed to add no more than two cards of the Rare category to the declared team.

Only 8 tournaments are allowed in the Starter League. So the game provokes us to buy rare cards that will allow us to play in more cool leagues.

Sign up for the next tournament. There are 2 tournaments every week. One - from Tuesday to Friday, the second - from Friday to Tuesday.

When registering for a tournament, we need to put up a team of 5 cards - goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, striker and any additional card.

When placing cards for a tournament, Sorare players are usually guided by the player's average for the previous 5 games of his team, and the fact that this player has a game during the upcoming Sorare tournament.

Prizes
After the end of the tournament you will be given a reward from the prize pool - the higher the position, the better the reward.

In the beginners league, the first place is given a rare card of the first rank (Tier 1 Rare) , for the second and third - for a rare card of the second rank (Tier 2 Rare). If your team is in the top 10% of the tournament's teams (but not higher than 4th place), then you will receive a Star Common card as a reward. If your team did not make it to the top 10% of the tournament's top teams, but is in the upper half of the final table, you will receive a Tier 1 Common card, if in the lower half - a Tier 2 Common card.

In cooler leagues (where rare cards are needed to participate), prizes are, of course, more valuable. For example, in the lower 4th division of the Global All Star league, the first 3 places are given to rare cards with a star (Star Rare), and places from 4 to 130 receive rare cards of various ranks (the higher the place, the higher the rank). Those who score more than 250 points receive 0.02 ETH each (about 64 euros at the time of publication of the review), from 205 to 250 points - 0.01 ETH each (about 32 euros at the time of publication of the review).

Training mode
From the cards that are not used in the tournament, you can create teams and send them to the "Special Training" training. Training will increase the bonus indicators of the cards.

How to buy cards
Cards of the Common category will be given to you when registering and completing the initial quests, and then they can be obtained as rewards by playing in the newbie league.
But to participate in serious tournaments you will need at least rare cards. They can be bought on the market.

There are 2 types of markets on the site:

New signatures. Primary market. When new clubs are added to the game, the platform sells cards with the players of these clubs by auction.
Transfer Market. Secondary market. Here, cards are traded between players in Sorare.
Accordingly, to buy the cards you want, you need to bid on the primary auctions and win those auctions, or buy cards on the secondary transfer market. Beforehand, of course, you need to top up your wallet with Ether.

Sorare earning strategies
The ways of earning in the game can be divided into 2 types:

Earnings on tournaments
- Earnings on transfers
- Let's consider both types of earnings.

Earnings on tournaments

To earn money on tournaments you will have to spend money on a budget squad - buy a minimum 4 rare cards. The cheapest position is the defender, then the midfielder, then the forward. The goalkeeper is considered the most expensive position.

Accordingly, the most budgetary lineup for "farming" prizes will look like this: 2 rare defender cards, one rare midfielder, one rare striker and a Common goalkeeper (therefore that a Rare goalkeeper is expensive). In order to get into the prizes, the cards must bring good points. Professional Sorare players recommend not looking for players from top leagues (like Italian, Spanish or German), but looking for players from Portuguese, Belgian, Dutch and Russian leagues. As practice shows, players from these leagues are the most underestimated.

A stable scoring squad of such “average players” will cost you at least 250-500 euros. Such a team pays off in 20-30 tournaments - that is, in about 2-3 months. The payback is due to prizes - Ethereum cryptocurrency and won cards of various rarity categories.
The team should be selected in such a way that the players have the same game weeks (Game Week's). However, then the team will bring points only every second Game Week. Ideally, of course, it is better to get a second squad so that the playing weeks of the squads alternate.
Also, ideally, the goalkeeper would be nice to have the Rare category, since in serious leagues the Common cards have a penalty, in as a result, a significant part of the points scored by the player is subtracted. In other words, the points of the cards in the Common category are simply cut.

Earning on transfers

In addition to earning prizes in tournaments, in Sorare you can earn by reselling cards.
There are several strategies for making money on reselling cards:

Purchase of reservists. One of the most common tactics for making money on transfers. It consists in buying cards of reserve players with good potential. As long as the player sits on the bench, the card is cheap, and that's what we use. But when, for any reason (for example, injury to the main player), the player starts to play on the field, his card increases significantly in price, and it can be sold, fixing a good profit. Another option is how to make money by buying a reservist - he can move to another club where he will play at the base, and this, again, will significantly increase the price of a card with him. By the way, the summer transfer window is opening soon, which means that many reservists have a good chance of moving to new clubs very soon, where they will finally start playing.

Purchase of injured players. Another popular earning tactic is buying an injured player. The more serious the injury, the more the price of the card with the injured footballer drops. A serious injury can disable a football player for several months. Having bought a card with such a player, you have a chance to sell it several times more expensive when the player recovers and plays with renewed vigor.
Purchase of youth. The most difficult and time-consuming method, which is suitable only for those who are well versed in football. It consists in long-term investments in cards with young undervalued players, who in a few years may grow into new stars. The difficulty is that you need to look for young talents that no one has yet discerned. Buying them up en masse, and then waiting for years for one of them to "shoot".

Sorare Affiliate
Sorare has an affiliate program. If you register using my affiliate link - sorare.com/r/alphainvestor, and purchase 5 rare cards from "New Signatures" (that is, on the primary market - from the auction from Sorare), then you will receive a rare card as a gift. Also, I will receive a rare card.

After registering in the game, you will find an affiliate link in your personal account. Your task is to distribute this link. If a person signs up using it and buys 5 rare cards from New Signatures, he will receive a rare card as a gift. You will also receive a rare card for this, and you will receive a rare card for each referral who bought 5 rare cards at the auction.

Registration

When registering with Sorare, it is advisable to take into account some nuances that will affect your start in the game.

The fact is that during registration you will be asked to choose your 3 favorite football teams. But you are not informed that the first cards of the Common category will be from the teams that you choose. Moreover, those teams that are simply not in the game are also given a choice. And if you choose such a team, instead of players from it, you will probably get cards from random teams. You can see the list of teams that are in the game at the link - sorare.com/faq?selection=Clubs.

If you are good at football, try at this stage to choose the teams in which the coolest goalkeepers play. Since a good Common goalkeeper will help you a lot when you collect your budget squad for "serious" leagues like the "Global All Star".

At the registration stage, you will need to perform simple actions, for which you will be given Common cards to start playing.

Re: Great review of Sorare

Conclusion
Sorare is a great example of what a blockchain game should look like. I really like the way the creators have combined collecting and gameplay. And also the fact that the game is tied to the achievements of football players in real life. Well, having an affiliate program for me, as a blogger, is a big plus, of course.

The game also has its drawbacks. The main disadvantage, in my opinion, is the Ethereum network fees. They bite too much. And especially now, when the price of Ethereum is growing day by day. This leads to another disadvantage - the threshold for entering the game grows along with the price of the cards. But this minus is coupled with a plus - after all, if the cards grow in price, then this is an excellent investment. After all, even if the price of a card in ether has not increased, but the ether rate has increased, you will already be in the black.

In general, I recommend trying to play at least free cards. But, just in case, register using my referral link - sorare.com/r/alphainvestor. Suddenly, then it will be so delayed that you decide to throw money in order to buy rare cards from the auction. Then you and I will receive a rare card as a gift 🙂

Good profit, friend!
